Four ways we help
Our Charitable Programs
Free resources that make community service easier to understand, find, and complete.
Community Impact Volunteers Inc., an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, operates CommunityService.org to reduce practical barriers to community service. Our programs serve people completing school, court, and civic requirements; individuals and families looking for meaningful ways to help; and nonprofits that host volunteers.
Community Service Education
We publish free, plain-language guides about choosing an opportunity, preparing for a volunteer role, understanding common requirements, and completing service responsibly. Guidance for court-ordered service is educational and does not replace legal advice or instructions from the relevant court or probation office.
Opportunity Navigation
Our location- and cause-specific resources help visitors identify established nonprofits and community organizations that may offer volunteer placements. Visitors should always confirm eligibility, age limits, scheduling, and approval directly with the host organization and any school, court, or program requiring their service.
